Manually doing it leads me to trust TaxCut over TurboTax. It continually came up with different results for the AMT than TaxCut, even though the data was the same. TurboTax is better at Schedule C forms and the 2106. The update just released on 29Mar doesn't even tell you what was fixed, patched, or changed and if it would have any impact on a return already filed.įinally, they keep pushing via their ads different (and more expensive) versions even though they have no applicability to your current tax filing status or situation. After 6 weeks of repeatedly contacting them, they basically said to enter things manually as they were not going to fix this known issue. Decided to try TurboTax 2012 this year due to a more complicated return. Gave up on TurboTax when they tried to ram through payment for every return filed and switched to TaxCut.
